IRRIGATION, HYDRAULIC PLANTING, EROSION CONTROL
Congratulations on your new hydro-mulched lawn! Hydraulic planting technology provides many benefits to the homeowner and is far superior to other planting techniques. In order to realize the full benefits hydraulic planting has to offer, it is critical that the newly planted lawn is maintained property. Remember, a newly planted lawn is no different than a young child, it requires proper care! Listed below are some basic instructions on how to maintain your newly plaited lawn and a supporting Daily Watering & Fertilization Schedule Table.
Watering your new lawn should be your first priority. It is absolutely critical that your irrigation watering schedule follows the minimum schedule outlined in the table below. Operate your irrigation system between the hours of 7 am & 5 pm. During the first week your lawn should stay moist all day, adjust your valve run-times accordingly! The valves run-times used during week one (1) will be used through week twelve (12) at the intervals listed in the table below. Problems with your irrigation system or failure to adhere to the minimum watering schedules could cause severe injury or death to your newly planted lawn!
For optimum results, fertilizations should be done in accordance with the schedule listed in the table below. Following the schedule, apply a standard 10-30-10 starter fertilizer at the rate of 2 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft of lawn area. Once toe lawn is fully established, a high quality slow-release fertilizer should be applied once every 3 months, or as required.
There is no question about it, you will have some weeds in your new lawn. However, this is not a big problem. You should spend at least 10 minutes a day pulling large weeds (before they drop seeds). If you can’t quite keep up with the weeds, they can be eradicated with a selective herbicide once the lawn is established. Always remember to follow all herbicide label instructions!
We want you to enjoy your new lawn for generations to come. If you notice any problems, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!
